Aspiring Documentary Journalist
About Me
A recent graduate from Ohio University and the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism, I'm an aspiring documentary journalist looking to do long form and multi-media storytelling.
Work Experience
Fall 2018 — Present
As a General Assignment Reporter at The Logan Daily News, I created two to three stories a day, doing 10 to 12 stories a week. The paper was both digital and print, but being the only reporter for the majority of the time has given me more hands on experience than I ever expected when it comes to working with a newspaper. I wrote stories, conducted interviews and took my own photos to produce stories for the three papers published each week.

Here are five of the stories I enjoyed the most while producing them. Click on the attachment icon to view the PDF and photos.
Summer 2018
As a Ginghamsburg Church media and design intern I created videos highlighting the impact programs and projects have on the community and church family. Working closely with social media and design supervisors to coordinate with branding & promoting content about the church.

Southeast Ohio Magazine is a publication that highlights the people of southeast of Ohio and what the area has to offer. As a part of capstone, I was named the multimedia editor to add elements such as video, audio etc., to the stories our writers produced.
Ohio Journalist Magazine is a student produced publication that is dedicated toward sharing stories of alumni and where they are at in the field of journalism today since graduation. In the fall of 2017 I began volunteering with them to gain more long-form story telling technique in writing.
June - August 2017
For three months I interned with a non-profit organization called Athletes in Action. Their mission is to use the platform of sport to share the gospel with athletes. I had the opportunity to serve on their digital content team. While there, I created a multimedia profile of all the interns to show their transformation during the summer. I also created five videos to highlight what the organization did on their campus headquaters with camps that came to visit frequently.
2014 - 2017
WOUB Public Media is the radio and TV station that serves roughly 55 counties in four states. Beginning my freshman year I volunteered for their podcast and radio show The OUtlet, which features campus and community news. Since then I have served as their co-producer and would like to implement more multi-media storytelling with the program.
Spring 2017
The Soul of Athens has been a multimedia course in the School of Visual Communications that has taken off. Students create a website with a topic of their choice to showcase and tell stories about. My partners and I decided to showcase a woman who has encouraged Appalachian women through their art work.

As a student ambassador for the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism, it has been a pleasure showcasing this school to prospective students. Professional guests, alum, and prospective students are met with an ambassador to tour and gain knowledge on what Scripps has to offer.
